Phenomenology is both a philosophy and a mode of inquiry. A phenomenological study describes the perceived meaning of a lived experience. Researching by using documents from historical figures of people of specific interest is one way to create a body of work that gives perspective and adds knowledge of a peoples' way of life. In addition to creating the movement script, text scores can be created from writings, journals, and newspaper articles.
