AAALF Teacher of Adapted Aquatics Credential - Day 2 |
This 22-hour course is for CURRENTLY CERTIFIED Red Cross Water Safety and/or YMCA Swimming Instructors on how to conduct Adapted Aquatics Programs for people with disabilities. Prerequisites include:
1) Current YMCA or Red Cross Swimming Instructor Certification.
2) Current first aid and CPR (infant/child AND adult).
Candidates must bring swimsuit, textbook "Adapted Aquatic Programming" by Lepore, Gayle, and Stevens (1998) Human Kinetics Publishers, and a videotape or DVD of them teaching a small group of people (2-5) with disabilities INSTRUCTIONAL SWIMMING for 30 minutes.
Workshop held at Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education (ICRE-Roosevelt), 1950 W. Roosevelt Rd.
Meet at ICRE-Roosevelt. Transportation is participant’s responsibility. |
