Developing and Leading Effective Recreation-Based Programs in a Blink Without the Costly Stink
This workshop will emphasize practical, easy-to-develop, easy-to-lead methods of developing and leading recreation-based programs on short notice and without the need of costly equipment. Attendees will learn a variety of enjoyable small group games, partner activities, and individual challenges that are non-equipment dependent and multi-age / ability appropriate. All of the activities will reinforce social skill development and integrate academic content without compromising skill competency, gross motor development, fitness and most importantly – FUN! This workshop will demonstrate methods of using everyday household items as well as teach attendees how to make leisure-based equipment inexpensively for their current field-based practice.
