PEP For All Students: Enhancing Adapted Physical Education Participation and Collaboration in PEP Grant Projects
PEP grants are expanding physical education programs for thousands of students. This session presents information on how regular and adapted physical educators can collaborate to include students with disabilities into PEP projects. Intended audience includes K-12 regular and adapted physical educators, higher education personnel, and therapeutic recreation staff. Content includes successful APE PEP projects, gathering and presenting need data for students with disabilities, inclusion of APE in PEP proposals, and collaboration between higher education and K-12 adapted physical education. Presenters include the PEP Competition Manager from the U.S. Department of Education discussing the federal perspective on PEP Grants.
