Plan for Instant and Continuous Activity During Physical Education Class
Children move for the joy of it! The focus of this activity based session is on motivating teachers to take advantage of this natural urge for movement and to provide optimal opportunities for practice and repetition. This session offers practical insights into planning for high active time: 1) Instant engagement. Activity examples will be geared at involving K-5 students in activity within 60 seconds upon entering the gym; and 2) Organizing students and utilizing equipment for maximum participation. Activities will focus on creative, yet practical methods for forming duos, trios, small groups, and large groups. Activities shared will maximize learning time by directing student attention toward making quick movement choices.
