Learn how to integrate language arts, reading, and math concepts through creative movement and dance for ages 3-8. Activities will focus on children's literature, beginning letter sounds, word recognition, poetry, counting, addition, and subtraction skills -- all through body, space, force, and relationship concepts. Problem solving will deal with cooperation, movement patterns, and creating stories with themes like animals, earth, kites, and insects. Students will be more prepared for "No Child Left Behind" testing. This program was implemented at Franklin Montessori Elementary in the Dayton Public Schools, including programs for parents, to promote movement and academic success for children. |
