| Dance the Answer! Creative Dance as an Assessment Tool |
| How can we evaluate the contribution of creative dance to the learning development of students? Creative dance is an authentic assessment tool. The presenters will demonstrate the power of creative dance through lessons that will develop educational strategies. For example, students may be required to create a dance in ABA form that communicates the accumulated knowledge of a lesson on interdisciplinary subjects like "machines" or "ecosystems." Participants will view a video of children and teachers in a professional development setting and then design, perform and evaluate a creative dance assessment. Content presented is aligned with the National Dance Standards. |
