A Fitness Adventure |
Fitness is one of the primary objectives of physical education. Adventure education is an excellent vehicle for developing many of the components of fitness. Activities involving climbing, swinging, stretching, pulling, and pushing, performed in many adventure activities, make significant contributions to these components. While students may complain about doing push-ups and sit-ups, they eagerly attack challenging adventure activities that develop many of the same fitness components. Participants will have an opportunity to learn a variety of adventure activities that contribute to the development of fitness, as well as learn how to use a model of adventure to design adventure-fitness activities. |
