Fighting Obesity with PE: Activities In & Out of the Classroom |
Obesity is a growing problem in America and our classrooms. This session will discuss and demonstrate techniques to prevent and fight obesity among normal body fat percentage students, borderline students, and those already obese. Techniques include a variety of fun fitness ideas, specialized cardiovascular and weight training classes, possible collaborations with the school health teacher, food intake analyses, modification of existing activities for higher aerobic intensity, and other topics. Handouts and a webpage will supplement presentation materials. |
