Playground Safety: Who Takes Responsibility? |
School administrators are ultimately accountable for creating and maintaining school playgrounds that are both safe and fun. No one plays a more important role, however, than the physical education teacher. This session provides physical educators and other stakeholders with the tools necessary to assess a playground for safety and measure the “play” value of a playground. Dr. Peterson and Dr. Wempe have taught courses in playground design (and management) and both are currently certified by the National Playground Safety Institute.
This session will include training on new software developed specifically for school personnel to use when assessing their play areas. |
