Investment for a Healthy Future: K-6 Health Education
According to SHHPS 2000 a higher percentage of schools require health education K-6 than in any grade 7-12, yet only a small percentage of those teaching health at the elementary level are certified, or have any specific training in health. This session will present health and elementary teacher pre-professional training initiatives being undertaken by two colleges in New York.
