Intermediate Ballet Technique Workshop |
This classical ballet class for the experienced dancer will focus on Cecchetti technique. Barre exercises will progress to center work: port de bras, adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro, turning combinations, and grand allegro. Ballet slippers or soft sole jazz shoes are recommended. Imagery to enhance performance will be drawn from Zena Rommett Floor-Barre exercises and movement combinations that address specific educational issues, such as the importance of turnout in balanced poses to develop technique and to deepen the understanding of Cecchetti ballet from the inside out. This participatory session serves in the content areas of dance technique, education, performance, and history. |
