Placement of Athletic Trainers in High Schools |
Although many large high schools have established positions for athletic trainers, the overwhelming majority of high schools in the U.S. still do not employ athletic trainers. In a day and time in which liability issues are a focus for most administrators the question still must be asked, why are there not athletic trainers present for all high school athletic events? This presentation will provide a foundation of information that focuses on liability issues that may influence decision-making during athletic injury scenarios, qualifications of athletic trainers, and suggestions on placement of athletic trainers in high schools. |
