Zero to Rally in 60 Minutes: An Integrated and Interactive Workshop to Implement Tennis in your P.E. Curriculum |
Teachers will discover how to introduce tennis to large numbers of children in limited space and also have the opportunity to learn the game themselves. Basic movement, tracking, and striking skills to rally the ball effectively will be covered. The training program, endorsed by P.E.4LIFE, incorporates a "play based approach" teaching style that is easy to understand and apply.
The USTA has a long standing USA School Tennis program that includes teacher training, easy-to-follow lesson plans, and equipment loans and discounts. Following the training, each participant that commits to offering a tennis unit in their physical education class will be eligible for free tennis equipment and follow-up support for their school.
Registration for this training includes lunch, transportation to Naperville, and a tour of the P.E.4LIFE Institute.
Note the schedule as follows:
• 8:00am Bus departs the convention site to Naperville
• 9:00am–Noon Tennis Training at Naperville School
• Noon–1:00pm Lunch
• 1:00pm–3:30pm Tour of the P.E.4LIFE Institute
