| The WEA Back Country Hiker Curriculum |
| Presentation of a power point program on CD - Rom that includes essential elements of the Wilderness Education Association (WEA) national standard program in wilderness leadership focusing on outdoor safety for the casual user. Designed for use by state and national parks to educate backcountry users, the program can also be used in secondary and post secondary educational programs. The program includes a comprehensive examination and exam key in PDF format. This session will overview the CD and discuss potential incorporation into park education, staff training physical education and professional preparation programs. |
