National Board Certification: What It Is and How State Associations Can Support It |
The National Board Certification process is a series of performance-based assessments designed to measure a teacher’s practice against high and rigorous standards. Presenters will provide an overview of the certification components and share helpful resources. In 2001, the IAHPERD Executive Board made a commitment to support National Board Certification by forming a committee to promote the process among its membership. Presenters will share how this committee functions and give ideas for the ongoing recruitment and support of candidates. It is our hope that, by sharing this information, other state associations will join us in the promotion of accomplished teaching. |
