Kicking Around Performance Routines |
The focus of this presentation is based on the development of performance routines and effects on athletic performance. As illustrated by Singer (1986), Ravizza and Osborne (1991), Muczko and Thompson (1996), a purpose of such routines is to assist in regulating structure and consistency in generating desired performance standards. This session, in particular, will introduce aspects and mental strategies involved in developing sport skill routines used in kicking, throwing/shooting, striking, and related skills. Sport psychology consultants will illustrate components and models used in their collaboration with professional, college, and youth athletes. |
