MASSPEC Day: From Interest to Game Performance: Assessments in PE |
Effective physical education programs have clearly stated objectives that align with NASPE Content Standards. The best way to see if physical education students are learning is to assess the students on the stated objectives. The presenters will overview four types of assessments (interest/attitude, skill, knowledge, and game performance). A description and examples of the four assessments will be given, along with hands-on experience for participants to practice administering the assessments. Program objectives will include: a discussion regarding the importance of assessment in quality physical education programs; definition of four types of assessments and their uses; and practice administering skill assessments. |
