The Effect of Figurative and Literal Skill Cues on Immediate Motor Skill Response and Recall of Kindergarten Children |
This program will focus on the results of a research study conducted on kindergarten children. After a brief review of literature, descriptive and inferential statistical results on the differences between literal language and figurative language used by a physical education teacher to convey critical aspects of three different motor skills (1. vertical jump, 2. kicking a stationary ball, and 3. the forward roll) will be discussed. Elementary physical education teachers, researchers, and those interested in developing or contributing new skill cues may find this presentation interesting. |
