Southern District Association Scholar Lecture: Promoting Physical Activity in School Physical Education: Issues, Obstacles, Challenges, and Possibilities |
Physical inactivity is a serious health concern in our society, and school physical education programs are consistently identified as an important component in efforts to address this problem. Although public health officials recognize that physical education programs can be a valuable tool in promoting physically active lifestyles, little attention has been given to the obstacles and challenges physical educators face. The focus of this presentation will be to examine the problems associated with increasing physical activity in schools and to suggest strategies and solutions to address those problems. |
