Professional Issues Colloquium: A Mentor for All Seasons — Preparing Future Professionals |
This session will feature some of the most successful mentors in kinesiology, reflected by their record of preparing productive and contributing scholars, teachers, and professional leaders. They will share lessons learned in their role as graduate mentors over the years, which should be insightful to younger professionals seeking to be and students seeking out good mentors. Some issues will include: What strategies have been successful? What strategies have not been successful? What are important criteria for mentoring? How can individuals learn to become mentors, not just advisors, for their graduate students?. |
