13th Annual Raymond A. Weiss Lecture: Environment, Youth, and Physical Activity |
Thomas L. McKenzie, Ph.D., Professor of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at San Diego State University, will examine physical and social environments relative to the important role they play in supporting health-enhancing physical activity. He will review an 18-year series of descriptive and experimental studies of children and adolescents conducted in a variety of environments, and will conclude with a description of innovative techniques for studying youth physical activity and associated variables in home, school, community, and park settings.
Dr. McKenzie’s expertise in designing and assessing interventions is widely recognized. He has authored over 100 papers and has received numerous awards. |
