R. Tait McKenzie Lecture: Physical Activity and Obesity—What We Know and What We Can Do |
William H. Dietz, M.D., Ph.D. is Director of the Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity in the Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the CDC. A renowned expert in physical activity, nutrition, and obesity, Dr. Dietz will discuss why population-based approaches, rather than traditional clinical interventions, will be required to control the epidemic of obesity in adults and children. He will explore what we know about the role of physical activity in the prevention and control of obesity, and will outline the school, worksite and community interventions that can improve levels of physical activity in the population. |
