15th Annual CAAD Symposium and Posters on Research on Aging
The 2004 CAAD Symposium will feature two prominent researchers from the Washington University who will discuss exercise and caloric restriction. Dr. John O. Holloszy will describe studies on rats comparing the effects of life-long caloric restriction and life-long exercise by means of voluntary wheel running on primary and secondary aging. Dr. Luigi Fontana will describe studies comparing humans who have been practicing caloric restriction for years with endurance athletes of the same age, in terms of risk factors for atherosclerosis and diabetes. Research posters will be on display and the Herbert H. deVries Award will be presented to Dr. Holloszy.
