Alliance Scholar Lecture: Promoting Lifelong Physical Activity Through Quality Physical Education |
In light of evidence that active children are more likely to become active adults there have been recent calls for quality daily physical education that will promote active lifestyles. This session will explain the influential role that students play in determining whether or not they find meaning and interest in physical activity. Emphasis will be placed on understanding feelings of competence, social influences, prior experiences, and value related beliefs as key to student motivation and active engagement. |
