Leading the Way for Health Education and Promotion: Capacity Building at HBCUs
The American Association for Health Education, in collaboration with the National Association for Equal Opportunities in Higher Education and the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation, is hosting a one-day conference on March 30 at the 2004 AAHPERD Annual Convention. The purpose of this conference is to focus attention on: 1) health issues of African Americans; 2) the role Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) can play in addressing HIV/AIDS and other serious health problems among African Americans, and 3) the promotion of health and wellness at Historically Black Colleges and Universities with online health information. Highlights of the conference will include: E-health at HBCUs, health Issues of African Americans, health education and promotion at HBCUs and NCATE Standards. Registration fee includes conference materials, luncheon and a reception. All events scheduled in the Hilton Riverside.
