Beyond Their Comfort Zone: Dependable Structures for Innovative Student Choreography |
This active session will lead dance educators toward successful student-constructed choreography, stretching both the personal innovation and physical involvement of the dancers. In the process, solo efforts are honed to form the basis for well-designed group pieces. Music is examined as both a catalyst for improvisation, leading to retained material, and as an overlay to work done in silence. This session is most suitable for teachers of middle and high school-aged dancers but can be adapted for others. |
