Officiating Safely III - Risk Management Before and After the Game |
According to a recent press release from the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO), a near crisis situation exists regarding the lack of qualified high school sports officials. In a study conducted by NASO reported that there is a shortage of officials in their state. One of the primary reasons reported for why sport officials are choosing not to officiate is the verbal and occasional physical abuse that they are subjected to before, during and/or after officiating an athletic contest. This session discusses the need for game management and legal liability related to officiating, coaching and sport administration. |
