Day 1 - Understanding Skeletal Changes in the Elderly: Implications for Functional Ability and Guidelines for Physical Activity
Health Care and Fitness practitioners will receive the current research on skeletal integrity, assessment techniques, and practical application of preventive measures. Participants will learn how arthritis, osteoporosis, joint replacement, and back pain interfere with functional ability. Through a case analysis approach, participants will learn how to structure programs that maximize the benefits of regular exercise while minimizing the risk of further injury and pain. Activity sessions introduce "best practices" in the field while participants experience appropriate use of the latest equipment designed for this purpose. |
