Opening Doors, Minds, and Hearts: Children of Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Parents, Positive Interactions With Schools |
It is estimated that between 6 and 10 million children of gay, lesbian and bisexual parents currently live in the United States. Session will address myths, present facts, and deliver current research literature regarding nontraditional families and schools. What does it mean to be an educator working with children whose parents are gay, lesbian or bisexual? Presenters will provide opportunities for open discussion on how all educators can affirm and appreciate differences for children of non-traditional families. |
