Using Movement to Enhance Student Self-Esteem: Three Simple Approaches |
Many authorities believe that the mind and body are connected so that what we feel physically affects what we think. One important mental concept is self-esteem or our self-concept. Having a positive self-concept is connected to achievement in school and life, while a negative self-concept can lead to depression, under- achievement and at-risk behaviors. In this workshop, participants will learn three approaches that use movement and dance to enhance students' self-esteem. A step-by-step analysis or format for each movement/dance approach will be provided. |
