The Body as Perceiver, Responder and Knower |
This workshop is presented in a lecture/participation format by a registered dance/movement therapist and a certified somatic movement therapist. Participants will engage in the learning process through discussions, dance and movement experiences, and journaling. The workshop will include research on the historical and philosophical constructs of the body in Western thought, a discussion of embodiment, psychological perspectives of the body as an instrument of healing – specifically Jungian Psychology and Cultural Relational Psychology, and an exploration of somatic and dance therapy techniques that relate to the philosophical and psychological constructs and perspectives presented. |
