The methodology set forth in this study utilizes a multiple set of variables weighted by scholars and leaders in the field of health education. These variables include: articles published, journal editorships, external funding of research, student activity, student/faculty ratio, mentoring and placement of doctoral students, and student support. An overall ranking is provided as well as the ranking for each of the seven individual variables.
