Advocacy Training for the Professional Educator: All You Need to Know to be a Health, Physical Activity, and Sport Advocate
This half-day session will provide all the skills and resources needed to advocate on behalf of health and physical activity issues at the national, state, and local levels. The session will begin with a panel discussion about the health and physical activity issues being debated on Capitol Hill during the 108th Congress; including CDC appropriations, Universal Health Care, renewed PEP Funding, and Title IX. Following the panel discussion experts will be on hand to provide you with the Steps to Successful Advocating, Strategies and Techniques for Building State and District Coalitions, and How to Use the On-line Advocacy Resources available at the AAHPERD and SSDHPER websites.
