Fitness Programs for Older Adults – A Training Workshop, Day 2: Selected Chronic Conditions in the Elderly |
This pre-convention workshop is an innovative, “hands-on” session providing exciting interventions/solutions for practitioners working with older adults. AAALF/CAAD in partnership with Flaghouse, offers practitioners a workshop to support their requirements for continuing education. National experts provide practitioners with the latest information regarding chronic conditions and “best practice” techniques for exercise. Agenda: (1) Introduction to cardiovascular/pulmonary conditions/diseases and exercise (2) Enhancing cardiovascular function through rhythmic activities; (3) Administrative concerns for cardiovascular/pulmonary exercise programs; (4) Understanding the effects of activity on arthritis, joint replacement, and lower back pain; (5) Core strength development; (6) Aquatic exercise for cardiovascular/pulmonary enhancement; (7) Relaxation techniques. Fee: 1-day $135/$155 on-site; 2-day $215/$240 on site. |
