Research Symposium-Developing a Programmatic Line of Research or How to Put the Pieces of the Puzzle Together |
One of the characteristics of good scholars is that they are associated with a "line of research" or a systematic series of studies that attempt to answer scientific questions revolving around a particular theme. Developing a program of research is also essential to success in academe, as promotion and tenure is often tied to individuals demonstrating that their scholarship can be identified by threads of similarity running through their research. This session is designed to illuminate the "what" and "how" of developing a programmatic line of research. Three scholars in different subdisciplines (pedagogy, motor behavior, psychology) will share what their program of research is and how they came about developing their programs. Ample time will be reserved for audience
and panel discussion. |
