Inactive and Overweight Children
Inactivity and obesity are epidemic among American children today. The first presentation provides teachers, parents and other health professionals with progressive and effective strategies for reaching sedentary and overweight children and their parents who are resistant to lifestyle changes. The second presentation “train-the-trainer” presentation offers practical strategies and resources that may be utilized by health educators, physical educators, school nurses and classroom teachers to help reverse trends and take steps to educate students, school staff and parents in dealing with this national problem. The final presentation focuses on coordinating a comprehensive approach to obesity in schools.
