A New Look at "New Age" PE: From Alternative Physical Activities to PEP Grants |
Outstanding coach/educators from the FIRST (Fit Individuals through Recreation and Sports Training)program in partnership with Olympic Governing Bodies present a
school/community-based program that immerses youth in participation/competition in alternative Olympic sports: fencing, table tennis, badminton, team handball, in-line/skateboard, cycling, others. Clinicians will teach participants highly successful curriculum for physical education, conduct focused intramurals and after-school programs, and link to community facilities/programs for practice and competition. Program includes participation in sports and writing PEP grants to fund training, equipment, etc. Passing after-program rules test results in certification. |
