Effects of Gender and Rating Level on Anxiety and Socialization in Officiating |
The purpose of this session is to present results of an exploratory investigation designed to examine the effects of gender and rating level on perceived trait anxiety of collegiate volleyball officials as well as factors influencing an individual’s (1) decision to become and continue as a collegiate volleyball official at various rating levels; and (2) ability to ‘move up’ within the ranks of collegiate volleyball officiating at various rating levels.
Officials from the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PAVO) were solicited to participate in the study. A demographic profile of the collegiate volleyball official will be presented as well as results of the research investigation. |
