Battle Creek College School of Physical Education: 1909-1938 |
Noted for his development of corn flakes and as medical director of the world famous Battle Creek Sanitarium, John Harvey Kellogg was also an important personality in the area of physical education. A strong believer in the benefit of physical activity, he established a School of Physical Education in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1909. This illustrated presentation will describe the philosophy upon which the school was established, and examine the academic curriculum and athletic program of the school. |
