Aligning Student Teaching Activities With NCATE Components |
If the University does not formally provide student teachers with structured "lessons" during this final experience, most of them do what the mentor teacher does. Without a structured plan for the students, this method of operation may be less effective than a structured plan. One mid western university formalizes this experience to conform to NCATE guidelines and thus guarantee some heterogeneity of the experience. At the conclusion of this session, the participants will be able to describe how one teacher training institution prepares the mentor teachers in the supporting schools and how the university provides a standard set of experiences grounded in NCATE philosophy. |
