Steppin' Seniors
The Steppin' Seniors Program, in existence for over ten years, was awarded the CAAD Excellence in Programming Award at the AAHPERD 2002 National Convention. Annette Hubbard, the Leader, brings a group of 30-40 dancers who perform various kinds of dancing and demonstrate that dance can be performed as a lifetime activity. The group sponsors community programs (i.e., women's health, visit schools/interact with youngsters) and have performed at various fundraisers for the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, and Meals on Wheels. Through their performances and assistance, Steppin' Seniors are great advocates of physical fitness, wellness, and the importance of older adults remaining active throughout their lives.
