Accessing Somatic Memory and the Poet Within |
This session is based on the premise that the body houses memories and, therefore, has stories to tell. It blends somatics, dance education and performance as a way to access and portray poetry and dance in a meaningful way. Poetry that is inspired by personal, body-level experience gives meaning to the written word and provides a departure point from which imagination and creativity can be expressed. Participants will be guided through sensory-based activities that focus on dancing, drawing, writing, and performing. |
