After School Physical Activity: A Modular Approach
Unattached school time is a key to increasing students' physical activity. More and more students are attending after school programs. The 12 "After School Physical Activity Modules" highlighted in this session were created by elementary and middle school physical education teachers with input from directors of after school programs and a professional evaluator. The After School Physical Activity Project was underwritten by a grant from CDC received by the CA Department of Education and contracted to the San Diego County Office of Education. The dissemination has been to all CA state funded after school programs and is available for anyone to access on-line.
