Outward Bound - An Urban Expedition
Outward Bound is well known for its wilderness expeditions, but they also conduct programs in urban and suburban environments, reaching youth who may never have an opportunity to experience the wilderness activities offered by this organization. The session will include a description of the various activities included in these programs, how teachers apply for their students to participate, how programs are funded, and a follow up curriculum for use in schools after the experience. Teachers and administrators will learn how they may take advantage of Outward Bound programs that may be available in their area.
