Setting Health Promotion Priorities: A Data-Driven Process to Justify Resource Allocation for Health Education/Promotion
This session will review the University of Pennsylvania's use of the PRECEDE Model (Green and Kreuter, 1999) as a framework for developing health promotion priorities for the student population. The presenters will describe how the the five stages of the PRECEDE process (social and quality of life assessment, epidemiological assessment, behavioral and environmental assessment, administrative and policy assessment, and educational/ecological assessment) were adapted to fit the needs of Penn's Office of Health Education. They will further discuss how a variety of data collection methods, including a web-based survey of student health concerns, were used to inform decision-making at each stage of the process.
