Fitness Programs for Older Adults – A Training Workshop, Day 1: Skeletal Changes With Age |
This pre-convention workshop is an innovative, “hands-on” session providing exciting interventions/solutions for practitioners working with older adults. AAALF/CAAD in partnership with Flaghouse, offers practitioners a workshop to support their requirements for continuing education. National experts provide practitioners with the latest information regarding chronic conditions and “best practice” techniques for exercise. Agenda: (1) Introduction to skeletal integrity; (2) Bone mineral density: assessment, development and loss; (3) Exercise for those with osteoporosis; (4) Activities to enhance skeletal integrity; (5) Diabetes, cancer, fibromyalgia and exercise; (6) Techniques for leading exercise for chronic conditions; (7) Administrative concerns for aquatic programs and aquatic exercise for skeletal strengthening. Fee: 1-day $135/$155 on-site; 2-day $215/$240 on-site. |
