Considering the Issue of "Sexploitation" of young women in Dance |
Our young dancers, girls most particularly, are the victims of subtle and not-so-subtle messages of exploitation based on sex. What are the implications for dance educators who are trying hard to advocate for dance and who are trying to encourage appropriate practices in dance? This presentation will consider the issue of sexploitation of young women dancers and examine the notion of appropriate practices in dance education and performance. |
