Making Connections Between Schools, Universities, and Communities Through Adventure Education |
One way a middle school has made connections with its students, the university, and community is through its adventure education program. The purpose of this session is to showcase one such adventure education program that has grown from basic initiatives to traverse and climbing walls to high ropes challenges. The development of this program, types of activities within the curriculum, and how this adventure education program has connected with students, the university, as well as the community will be discussed. This model school can provide knowledge and motivation to practitioners so they can develop their own programs. |
