Perceptions of Effective Leadership and Gender Schemas: Strategies and Skills to Develop a Professional Portfolio |
Research is showing that both men and women have the characteristics of effective leaders and that competency rather than gender is the basis of effective leadership. This session is important for women who desire a career in athletic administration. The session will discuss past leadership theory, present advances that have changed the face of the leadership and the role of women in leadership in the future. The session will help participants identify the competencies and behaviors of effective athletic administrators and provide them with tools and strategies to assist them in developing their profession. |
